The Long Night of the Churches
Bellunolanote, in collaboration with Pastorale Giovanile di Belluno-Feltre, is organizing the first edition of “The Long Night of the Churches”, the first sleepless night to take place inside houses of worship of the city!
Bellunolanotte, the civic association led by Stefano Casagrande, always very active and innovative, presents a new type of event: the “Long Night of the Churches,” which brings together culture, art, music and theater in a key of reflection and spirituality. All of which will happen inside the churches of our city! The event is in collaboration with the Pastorale Giovanile Belluno-Feltre and Don Luciano Todesco, who embraced this project.
Friday, June 10th Loreto, Santo Stefano, San Pietro and San Rocco will host events tied to music, theater, chanting, alternating with moments of meditation.
There will even be access to places and rooms usually closed to the public, such as the splendid cloisters, by way of guided tours organized for the event, all in one day.

Stefano Casagrande, president of BellunoLaNotte commented on the event:
“It will be a true and real sleepless night! The idea is inspired by the “Lange Nacht Kirche” that has been taking place in Austria for 10 years in nearly 700 churches simultaneously, with the objective of involving the church in the social life of the city, to give a sign of modernity and presence in the community. The hope is that here in Belluno it can be an event that will grow for years to come. For the audience we expect to have not only families and children, but also many young people interested in art and culture, who, moreover, will be actively captivated for the entire day; and perhaps even some tourists will arrive! We are hoping to involve the many civic associations that have been active in culture for years and can thus, hopefully, help with promotion. We have already received sponsorship from the City and Province of Belluno, as well as the Region of Veneto, that realized the importance of the event.”
The program is ready and will be detailed in the coming days. But the first names confirmed are all of renowned and important professionals, leaders in their fields: Anna Olivier, who will also be the Artistic Director of the entire event, in a religious theatrical performance together with Giulia Corradi. And then the singer-songwriter Giorgio Fornasier, Maria Grazia Feltre and Stefano Emmi with a religious opera, a musician duet: Chiara Gasparotto on the harp and Angelo Martin on the oboe, the Scuola Miari with Mirko Ballico in an organ concert, Paolo Fornasier in a concert for pianoforte and finally we can’t leave out the electronic music, like with GizA DJs. There will also be the Coro Minimo, Voci dai Cortivi and the Bellunese Choral Group. Many more performers will be announced in the coming days.
At the same time, the official Facebook page launched: Lunga Notte delle Chiese, where you can find all of the updated information and news that will follow in the next few days. It will be possible to download the program.
